InnovateX Internship Program

Immersive working experience for kids and teens in the real world.

The InnovateX Internship Program by UpStudio Africa offers students aged 15 – 19 a transformative experience that bridges academic learning with real-world application. Designed to prepare youth for the dynamic world ahead, the program equips students with critical skills, practical knowledge, and the confidence to thrive in any professional environment.

Over the course of a 4-week internship, InnovateX interns are placed with leading corporate partners where they gain hands-on experience, tackle real-world challenges, and build essential professional skills in their field of interest—ranging from aerospace engineering and mechanical maintenance to creative media, marketing, education, and more. This June – July holiday, our corporate partners are offering the following experiences:

Toyota Tanzania: Mechanical engineering within maintenance workshops.
Selcom: Customer relationship and product development in the fintech industry.
Kazi Yetu: Marketing and product development in the tea processing and agriculture industry.
Ubongo Kids: Research and content development roles in educational media.
Alliance Française: Creative ecosystem development and cultural program planning and marketing.
Sno Cream, Woodberry, and Garden Market: Service industry experience, including barista training and social media content creation.
UpStudio Africa: Teaching and supporting the delivery of STEM programs.

InnovateX Interns are supported throughout the program by dedicated mentors and the UpStudio Africa team to ensure meaningful learning and personal growth. InnovateX is more than an internship—it’s a journey of discovery and empowerment, helping students uncover their passions, sharpen their talents, and lay the foundation for a successful and purpose-driven future.

2024 InnovateX Internship Program

During the inaugural InnovateX Internship Program in July 2024, UpStudio Africa selected 10 InnovateX Interns and placed them at four corporate partners for internships at Air Tanzania, Toyota Tanzania, Kazi Yetu, and Selcom. UpStudio Africa received numerous applications and selected the strongest candidates through a rigorous application process and one-on-one interviews. Selected candidates demonstrated a passion for their field of study, confidence to thrive, and dedication to learning.
